Varietal Information

This full-bodied, full-flavored grape is known for having a spicy and peppery aroma. It also has one of the highest levels of antioxidants among wine grapes.

This varietal is also called Shiraz (primarily in Australia), is one of the most planted varietals and is also grown throughout the world. It is also one of the darkest in color of red wines produced.

Syrah is often seen as a single varietal but is also commonly blended with other types of grapes. It is also sometimes used for making rosé or port-style wines.
