2016 Carignane

Tasting Notes: Our first single-varietal bottling, layers of bright red fruit and subtle earth complement each other for a wonderfully refreshing experience.

Varietal Information

Carignane (care-in-yawn) is a medium-bodied red wine full of bright fruit, rich spice and soft tannins.

This varietal is primarily found in the Languedoc-Rousillon region in France, but can also be found in parts of Northern Spain where it is known as Cariñena or Mazuelo. Carignane can also be found in Sardinia, Italy where it is known as Carignano del Sulcis.

While this varietal is considered a major blending grape, the depth of flavor and richness show this grape is destined to be highlighted on its own.
